Help create woodland

THE public are being invited to get involved in a project to plant 100,000 trees.

Work will continue to create a 100-acre woodland at Sence Valley, Ibstock, on February 8.

More than 4,000 trees were planted in one day at the site in November.

Sence Valley’s volunteer groups, dignitarie­s, schools and Forestry

England staff from across the country have added to the total since.

The trees include broadleaf and coniferous species selected by foresters based on soil conditions, predicted future climate conditions and timber market forecasts.

This free tree planting event will run from 10am to 2pm.
