A SAXOPHONE orchestra for adults has been launched in Market Harborough.

The Phoenix Saxophone Orchestra is starting off with 14 members, playing seven different types of saxophone, from the tiny sopranino to contrabass.

Founder member Jane Smith said: “We are really excited to be launching this new orchestra. Playing the sax is great fun and it’s even better when you get to do it with a crowd of likeminded people.

“What’s particularly good about Phoenix is that we have players with different levels of musical ability, but we all work together to support and help each other develop our musical skills.

“We are a friendly and supportive bunch and we make a great sound too. So why not come along and join us?”

The group meets every other Sunday morning at the village hall in Great Bowden.
