Why we’re in the business of making a BIG difference with BIG smiles!
WELCOME to this round up of the Alternative Business Awards which took place at Curve on the first night of Leicester Comedy Festival 2020!
The amazing event helped celebrate the business men and women from Leicester & Leicestershire with all our tongues firmly in our cheeks.
The evening demonstrated that the area is a great place to do business and our local business community do good business with a massive smile planted on their faces.
The event was produced to help raise money for Leicester Comedy Festival, and our registered charity Big Difference Company. In addition to the big names who come to the festival each February, we also produce a significant community programme which engages with loads of local people in comedy and humour-based activities. This year these have included projects with older people, people with poor mental health, children and young people and their families. We want to continue to ensure the festival is a “big grin” for as many people as possible.
Without the support of the businesses who joined in the fun at the Awards ceremony, we couldn’t continue to do this work.
We reckon we work with more than 50 local businesses who value what we do, and contribute financially to help us grow and sustain what we do. Some of these are sponsors, some are members
