OKAY, for one million pounds, let’s play! You only have to say those words and most quiz fans will know exactly what you are talking about.
The show is Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, which is perhaps most famous for the “coughing” scandal Charles Ingram was at the heart of back in 2001.
Now, Nottinghamshire playwright, James Graham brings his critically acclaimed smash hit comedy, Quiz, to his home region as part of the 20-week UK and Ireland tour.
Quiz is a fictional work based on real events but is not in any way connected with the makers of the programme or individuals portrayed.
Uncovering new evidence, and using bespoke technology never seen before on a UK tour, Quiz asks the audience to decide the ultimate 50-50: guilty or not guilty.
Set to air in 2020, the Olivier Award-winning writer has also adapted Quiz into a three-part drama for ITV. The TV series of the same name is directed by Stephen Frears and stars Michael Sheen, Matthew Macfadyen, Sian Clifford, Aisling Bea and Helen McCrory.
