SAYING ‘YES’ ALL OVER AGAIN

-

WHEN it came to planning his proposal – screened live on on ITV’s Good Morning Britain in April last year – John made sure it was perfect and personal to the couple.

The first suggestion from the ITV was for celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott to make them breakfast.

But John says hearing their song, Just You and I, by Tom Walker gave him the idea to get engaged at Swadlincote restaurant Montanaros, one of their favourite places to go.

It took him three months to plan and he even got the restaurant to send an invitation, saying bosses were inviting loyal customers to breakfast to celebrate 10 years in business.

Amy was under the impression that any filming taking place for the restaurant’s website.

With ITV camera crews standing by,

John pretended to go to the toilet and a choir began to sing Just You and I.

John returned to the couple’s table with Good Morning Britain presenter Katy Rickett, who told Amy: “I just want to warn you, you are live on Good Morning Britain, I am not a waitress and John has a very special question for you.”

With a cameraman at his side, John then took Amy’s hand and said: “Amy, you’re my best friend and my soulmate. Will you marry me?”

Amy accepted all over again, saying: “Yes, I will!”

Amy said of the proposal: “It was really unexpected. After the first time I thought it was never going to happen again.”

Now the couple are adapting to life with baby Oliver and concentrating on their new businesses directory firm, Spotted:App.
