A COUPLE have appeared on ITV’s This Morning to share the story of their appeal on social media for the return of a stolen purse.

Pauline, 86, and Geoffrey Walker, 89, hit the news this week after Pauline fell victim to theft.

Geoffrey made a plea to their 109,000 Instagram followers for the return of his wife’s purse after it was stolen while she was shopping.

Pauline, from Thringstone, said: “The bank had phoned my husband even before I got home to tell him.

“I feel sorry for the person – they must have been hungry because they went straight to Gregg’s to use it.”

“There wasn’t much money in it, only a tenner, but I am a sentimental person about these things.

“It’s really upset me. It’s horrible. “When you are 86 you don’t get over things like this.”

In the purse, Pauline had a notebook with her children’s phone numbers in, a book of stamps, a key for a disabled toilet and a piece of paper listing all the medications she cannot take.

The couple appeared on This Morning yesterday to discuss what had happened.

They also played Spin to Win and walked away with a £1,000 prize.

The purchases made on Pauline’s card were all refunded.

The couple have not reported the incident to the police and said they just want to move on.
