A KNIFE attacker has admitted stabbing his victim in a branch of Nando’s.

Alyasa Samuel appeared before a crown court judge and pleaded guilty to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm to a man at Highcross shopping centre, Leicester.

The 21-year-old, of Gresley Close, Beaumont Leys, Leicester, also admitted possessing a knife on the night of the assault, on January 4.

Leicester Crown Court Judge Ebraham Mooncey told Samuel he was remanding him back into custody to await sentencing at the next hearing.

At an earlier magistrates’ court hearing it was revealed the injured man, who is in his 20s, sustained a

“deep wound” and possible nerve damage to an arm.

Police were called to the scene in Highcross Lane, which runs between the inner ring road and the centre’s main outdoor square, at about 10.20pm.
