LEICESTER’S top dog needs your help in the national finals of the Lockdown Dogs competition.
Scamp managed to beat hundreds of entries in the regional heats to be crowned the winner on our website, LeicestershireLive, and now he is in with a chance of winning the national finals.
Readers voted in their thousands for their favourite dog in the local competition, but Scamp, sporting his favourite Leicester Tigers bandana, won with 1,785 votes.
You can help Scamp on his way to victory by voting for him in the finals, where he is up against 21 other dogs.
When his owner, Shannon Bradbury, found out he had won the regional finals, she was over the moon for him.
Shannon, 23, said: “The best thing about Scamp is he is just the most friendly dog ever. He’s still like a puppy even though he’s 11 years old. He’s still got loads of life in him.
“During lockdown he’s been there for us all as we have been stuck at home, he’s been like our own personal therapy dog when you’re down or having a hard time, not having anything to do.
“When we go for a walk, he just loves saying hello to absolutely everybody he meets.
“He loves the beach as well, when we go on holidays, that’s his favourite thing. It’s been really great to get this far and to get further would be amazing. I love Scamp because he is the most cuddly and friendly and the most happy dog you’ll meet!”
