Pedestrian hit by car on the A47

A PEDESTRIAN was taken to hospital after being hit by a car just after midnight yesterday.

The man was injured in the collision on the A47, between Dan’s Lane and Peckleton Lane, in Leicester Forest West.

The stretch of the A47 between the two junctions was closed for more than fours while police examined the scene.

A police spokeswoma­n said: “We were called at about 12.15am to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a car.

“The road was closed between Peckleton Lane and Dan’s Lane.

“The pedestrian was taken to hospital in Coventry after the collision. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatenin­g.

“The road was reopened just after 5am.

“If anyone has any informatio­n about this incident or witnessed the collision we would like to speak to them.”

No-one else was injured in the incident.
