Face masks policy has not been thought out
CONSIDERING that Boris Johnson has stated that all passengers on public transport have to wear face coverings, I was shocked to see that all the Thurmaston Arriva bus drivers were not wearing face coverings.
I contacted our local councillor and Charnwood Mayor, Brenda Seaton, who contacted Arriva. The answer was they decided not to wear face coverings because they had a screen.
I think drivers should wear them, as we could face a fine if we do not wear them on buses.
Plus, what happens when a driver has to deploy the bus ramp for a wheelchair user? They have to come from behind the screen to do so.
I don’t think Arriva have fully thought it through.
