Injured fox is rescued

-

A SMALL fox had to be rescued after it became stuck in a garden bench.

The Fire and Rescue Service were called out to save the helpless animal at around 1.08pm on Sunday.

The incident took place in Main Street, Long Whatton, Loughborough. An appliance from Castle Donington Station attended.

The fox had suffered a broken leg as a result of becoming trapped.

The station published a picture of the fox on Facebook after it was rescued. Alongside the picture, it read: “This little fox got itself into a bit of bother. But luckily our crew was on hand to release its hind leg that had been trapped in the picnic table.

“It has an injured leg so crew manager Carnan is giving it a cuddle until the RSPCA arrive.”

The fox has been handed over to the RSPCA which will continue to care for it.
