Borough being used as firewall for the county

-

THE recent lockdown in Leicester and the surrounding areas is making residents in Oadby and Wigston very angry.

For three months they have endured the lockdown and abided by the rules in the hope that on July 4 the rules would be relaxed.

However, it was not to be. A minority in the city have seemingly ignored the rules and the rest of us have to suffer until the July 18 at the earliest.

Councillors have been kept in the dark and not been allowed to influence any decisions being made by the government or the leaders of the city and county.

Oadby and Wigston is being used as a firewall to prevent the spread of this awful virus, and the recent report in this paper shows that the

ONS data used was an extremely blunt tool. I hope this setback will make people more aware that this virus has not gone away and we all need to be more vigilant.
