Bus firm offers reassuranc­e over safety and timetables

KINCHBUS has confirmed it is keeping its current timetables for services into and out of Leicester, to be there for customers after the city was put back into local lockdown.

The Loughborou­gh-based bus operator is keen to reassure customers Kinchbus 2 and skylink Derby will continue to provide their vital services.

Kinchbus 2 connects Loughborou­gh, Barrow and Sileby with Birstall and Leicester within the newly establishe­d lockdown area. It is running a normal Monday to Saturday timetable skylink Derby links Leicester and Birstall with Loughborou­gh, Kegworth, East Midlands Airport and beyond to Derby. Skylink Derby runs every 20 minutes Monday to Saturday and every 30 minutes on Sundays.

Jeff Counsell, managing director at Kinchbus, said: “We are all committed to supporting the people of Leicester and will be maintainin­g our services to be there for key workers who still need to travel in and out for work and those wanting to reach essential services. To help customers protect themselves and each other, our Covid-secure buses have Perspex screens and receive an enhanced cleaning and sanitising regime.

“Each vehicle is sprayed with a powerful disinfecta­nt mist every night and receives additional cleaning during each day. Our drivers all have access to PPE and have their temperatur­e checked at the start of each shift.

“We would like to thank our customers for following the Government’s advice on wearing a face covering on board and for paying contactles­s, using the on-board sanitising stations and maintainin­g social distancing.”
