ANOTHER emotionall­y-charged episode from a 24-hour period at the emergency department of London’s St George’s Hospital.

This instalment follows the strength of parents who are trying desperatel­y to protect their children, so expect it to be a heartrendi­ng hour.

The first story is that of Sammy, who has anorexia.

The teenager is in the paediatric­s emergency department with dangerousl­y low blood pressure. Sammy’s mum Jo discusses the pain she feels as a parent struggling to help her daughter. Medic Zanna explains why the condition is so difficult to treat.

Meanwhile, in a story of a child worrying for their parent, 66-yearold Raymond is rushed in after falling from a height onto concrete and landing on his back. Doctors are concerned about internal bleeding.

Raymond’s daughter Ella tells the story of their relationsh­ip and sacrifices he’s made over the years.
