FIVE members of Market Bosworth Rotary Club raised money for Womens Aid, Leicestershire, by cycling 300 kilometres (186 miles) each.
The team, pictured, led by Darrell Gillett and Brian Cox, passed the £3,000 target that they set themselves within a month.
Darrell said: “After completing the ride, we thought we might still need that little bit extra to reach our objective so we set up a stall in Bosworth market.
“That raised almost £300 on the day, taking us within a whisker of target.
“In fact, donations are still arriving.”
Womans Aid spokesman Toni Bentley said: “All donations received help the families that
arrive at our refuges, ensuring they are met with essential items, in a safe, welcoming and comfortable environment.
“Due to the Covid-19 situation, we are busier than ever.” gofundme.com/f/ the-cycle-for-womens-refuge
