BANK FORCED TO CLOSE

BARCLAYS has closed its branch in Humberstone Gate, Leicester, after a member of staff tested positive for coronavirus.

A spokeswoman for the bank said yesterday: “Where a positive Covid-19 case is confirmed in our branch, we take immediate action in line with government guidelines, including contact tracing and enhanced deep cleaning. The branch is currently being thoroughly cleaned and we expect to reopen tomorrow. We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers.

“The nearest Barclays branches currently open are at Evington Road, The Parade, Oadby, Belgrave Road and Birstall.”
