Mistakes have dented my faith in Rodgers

-

THE worrying thing about Leicester City’s latest defeat – 1-0 to Aston Villa on Sunday – is it isn’t a one-off. Over the past 14 games we have been in the bottom third of the form league.

We were outplayed, outcoached and outmanaged by Villa. In other words, outdone in all departments.

We will not finish in the top six this year unless drastic changes are made, either in playing staff, coaching staff or management staff.

I was a supporter of Brendan Rodgers’ appointment, but not any more. He picks players who obviously aren’t good enough for the Premier League (Iheanacho, Perez and Tielemans).

James Justin is a talent learning to play in the Premier League in his own position, but he is compromised by playing him at left-back. I feel sorry for him as his confidence must be taking a beating.

Rodgers has managed teams built by others (Liverpool, Celtic). This is the first time he has had to build a team, and he seems to be failing.

We will be lucky to finish in the top half this season, unless dramatic changes are made.
