Not everyone can see their ‘virtual GP’
maternity services at Melton are to close. Why are they so under-used?
David Fish, Lutterworth
I AM getting frustrated that I am unable to see my GP face to face.
As my breathing has got worse, it would be better for them to listen to my breathing properly via a stethoscope etc. That way they can diagnose me better and, hopefully, give me the correct medication. Instead, it’s guess work.
Face to face consultation would save NHS money by prescribing the right medication first time instead of three different ones.
Also, I had a mole on my upper back which needed looking at. I was told to take a photo of it and email it.
Not everyone has a digital camera – either as a standalone camera or on their mobile phone, or an e-mail address. Nor is everyone who lives alone part of a support bubble, which was an issue in this case as the position of the mole made it difficult to photo it unaided.
I am part of a bubble with my sister and her husband, so one of them took the photo for me.
