CCTV clue after cars in street scratched

-

OFFICERS investigating the vandalism of cars in a Leicester street have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the crime.

The two cars – a black BMW and a white Mercedes – were targeted in Walton Street, off Narborough Road, in the West End of the city.

It happened at about 6am on Wednesday, August 26.

In an appeal for information, a police spokesman said the cars had been scratched all along their sides.

They added: “As part of our inquiries, officers have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to regarding this damage.”

The officer investigating the case said she believed the particular vehicles concerned were targeted.

“Based on our inquiries so far, and the fact that cars parked on the other side of the road and in between were not damaged, we believed it to be deliberate,” she said.

“I would be keen to speak to this man from the footage as we suspect he may have information about this damage.

“I would urge him or anyone who recognises him to please contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to get in touch with the police on 101.
