Asda convenience store opens at services

-

ASDA has opened a new store in Ashby.

It is the company’s third “Asda on the Move” convenience store, and is at the Flagstaff services site.

It aims to give motorists the chance to shop for fresh food and essentials as they fill up with fuel.

The shop is part of a trial and follows the launch of the retailer’s first two sites earlier this month in Walsall.

All three locations are part of a trial with petrol station operator EG Group.

Located on the A42 at Junction 13, the shop stocks 1,500 products including ‘food to go’, bakery and fresh chilled products, said a spokesperson.

The site also features a ToYou parcel point.

This allows customers to order items via George.com, and pick up or return items to more than 100 online retailers.

Debra Lees, Asda’s senior director of corporate strategy, said: “We are very pleased to launch our third Asda On the Move site.”
