Eight more deaths at hospitals

-

A FURTHER eight people have died from coronavirus in Leicester’s hospitals, it was announced yesterday.

The deaths mean the total number of people to die from Covid-19 in the city’s hospital wards since the pandemic began now stands at 465.

The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust said the latest deaths were people aged from their 60s to their 80s.

While the deaths cover the period from Wednesday, October 14, until yesterday, reporting delays mean some of those deaths could have occurred before October 14.

The trust said in a statement: “Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends of the patients at this very difficult and distressing time.”
