Government focusing on impossible target

CONGRATULATIONS to Leicester Mercury for highlighting the effects of the local lockdown.

I have felt for some months that the government’s reaction to the pandemic is misplaced. They are fixated on an impossible target in the eradication of the virus. They are impervious to dissenting views including those of eminent scientists and businessmen.

They appear to be indifferent to the damage caused by their policies, to the economy, to people suffering from non-Covid illnesses and to the general wellbeing of the nation.
