BARRiE Stephen, owner of Barrie Stephen Hair in Leicester, has raised £10,000 for Leicester Animal Aid.

Through his Making a Difference campaign, an initiative he launched as part of his role as a charity ambassador, the hairdresser got creative to secure some muchneeded cash for his furry friends at an animal rescue charity.

Unable to host a big fund-raising event, Barrie organised two online events. The virtual “Big Night in at the Bingo with B & Lea” raised around £1,000 in a single hour, and online home workouts with personal trainer Dan Morris helped to push the total amount raised so far up to £10,000.

in becoming an ambassador for Leicester Animal Aid in 2018, Barrie launched his Making A Difference campaign for the charity. Every penny raised goes towards the upkeep, care and re-homing costs involved to look after the cats and dogs.

Barrie said: “it’s been a tough year for everyone and these animals have suffered to. At times like these often the funds dry up, but Leicestershire has been amazing, as ever, and really supported us. it really must be the biggest hearted county in Britain.”
