Fofana is going to be a top player, says Evans
THERE is no chance of Wesley Fofana being lost in translation at Leicester City, with the players around him speaking French to help him settle in, including his centreback partner Jonny Evans, writes Jordan Blackwell.
The new £32 million signing has already begun English lessons, but while he gets up to speed with a new language, there is plenty of Gallic chat on the pitch, with French speakers beside him in Timothy Castagne and Evans, and ahead of him in Papy Mendy and Youri Tielemans.
Evans was impressed with the start his newest team-mate has made.
“I thought he had an excellent game (against Aston Villa),” Evans said. “He’s a really young lad, but you can see the potential he’s got.
“He’s already put in big performances for his previous club (Saint-Etienne) and has come in and had a really good debut.
“It’s exciting to see a young lad with that amount of talent coming through, and he’s going to be a top player for Leicester for sure.” Now City have signed a new centre-half, their attentions may turn to keeping their current crop at the club.
Evans is out of contract next summer, and while he says no talks have opened, putting pen to paper on a new deal would be something he is willing to do.
