Huge cannabis factory found

POLICE have found a huge cannabis factory containing more than 1,000 plants.

Officers uncovered the largescale growing operation in a disused business premises in Baker Street, Coalville, on Monday, October 19.

Police said no arrests have yet been made but inquiries are continuing.

Officers are appealing for help from the public to find out who was running the cannabis factory.

A Leicesters­hire Police spokeswoma­n said: “Police are investigat­ing after a large cannabis factory was found in a premises in Baker Street, Coalville.

“It was discovered on Monday, October 19 by local officers and found to contain in excess of 1,000 cannabis plants, as well as hydroponic equipment.

“No arrests have been made and our investigat­ion is ongoing while enquiries continue to be carried out.”

Anyone who may have informatio­n about the factory is asked to contact police on 101.
