Driver has a lucky escape as car flips on to its roof
A YOUNG driver had a lucky escape after her car flipped over on to its roof on a country lane.
The 24-year-old woman suffered a minor injury in the accident in Pincet Lane, North Kilworth, near Lutterworth, just before 7pm on Thursday.
The fire service said she was able to get out of the upside down VW Beetle herself and was treated by them for a small cut to her leg.
Police closed the road until 8.15pm to allow the car to be recovered and vehicle fluid to be cleaned from the carriageway.
A fire and service spokeswoman said: “We received a call at 6.58pm to a report of a car on its roof.
“When we arrived the driver, a 24-year-old woman, had managed to get out of the car herself.
“She was treated for a small cut to her leg.
“Her parents turned up to collect her and take her to hospital for a check-up.
“We made the car safe and cleaned up vehicle fluid from the carriageway.”
A police spokeswoman said: “We were called at 7pm to a single vehicle collision on Pincet Lane, North Kilworth.”
Firefighters from Market Harborough and Lutterworth attended the incident.
