SOAPS
CORRIE, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and EastEnders fans have no need to panic, producers have confirmed that recording will continue throughout the new lockdown in England, so they won’t be at risk of going off air. Just as well, because we haven’t got much else to do but watch TV.
BIRDS OF A FEATHER
THE comedy favourite is to return for a festive special. Actress Linda Robson, who plays Tracy, revealed the news this week, although her co-star Pauline Quirke who played sister Sharon will not appear, having chosen to retire from acting. The storyline will see Sharon stuck on a Covid-infected cruise liner in Costa Rica.
REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY
COVID restrictions mean many remembrance events have been scaled back or cancelled tomorrow. So join us in heading out onto our doorsteps to observe the two-minute silence from 11am to honour the servicemen and women killed in the world wars and later conflicts. Oh, and wear your poppy with pride.
THE Hollywood star this week lost his libel case after a judge upheld a claim that he was a wife beater. The actor sued a newspaper after an article alleged he had attacked ex-wife Amber Heard, which Depp denies. But at the High Court, Mr Justice Nicol dismissed his claim saying the article’s content had been proven “substantially true”.
HOLIDAY REFUNDS
MORE than £1billion in refunds is being illegally withheld for holidays cancelled due to coronavirus, research reveals. Around 9.5 million people have had a package holiday cancelled since the first lockdown in March but cash refunds for one in five holidays are still outstanding.
