Ex-store to bounce back into action

A NEW adventure park, inspired by the ITV show Ninja Warrior UK, is set to open in Leicester.

The attraction will be located in St George’s Retail Park, in the unit formerly occupied by Toys ‘R’ Us, which closed in 2018.

Work is under way to transform the building into the Ninja Warrior UK adventure park, which is set to open early next year.

Both children and adults will be able to tackle assault courses featuring a variety of obstacles, and discover if they’ve got what it takes to beat the wall.

There are already seven similar Ninja Warrior UK parks located around the UK, including Cardiff, Edinburgh, Stoke on Trent and Sheffield. There’s also a water park at Windsor.

As well as Leicester, new parks are also set to open soon in Southampton and Bradford.

The Leicester park will be divided into two sections – the first part being the inflatable section with multiple obstacles.

The second part will be the fixed Ninja Warrior obstacle courses, comprising both adults and kids courses.

In addition, the park will have a cafe with a seating area, and four or five party rooms will be available.

The Ninja Warrior UK adventure parks are created by ITV and its partners to offer a fun, safe and inclusive environment where people of a wide range of ages and abilities can create their own Ninja Warrior UK journeys – and get a feel for what it’s like to be on the TV show.

The Leicester park is due to open in February or March, depending on the Covid-19 situation.
