Car collided with road sign

A CAR collided with an electronic speeding sign in Hinckley, leaving part of a road closed.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the scene in Leicester Road, close to the junction with Stoneygate Drive, at 3.17pm yesterday.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Police said a woman was taken to hospital after the incident, but it was not clear how serious her injuries were.

The road was closed while Highways England dealt with a spillage on the road caused by the crash.

The vehicle has now been recovered.

No other vehicles were reported to have been involved in the incident.
