Man charged with stealing car

A MAN has been charged with stealing a car in Hinckley.

Ricky Aucott, from Nuneaton, is accused of taking the vehicle as it was parked in Roston Drive.

The 31-year-old, of Aberdeen Road, faces one count of aggravated vehicle taking and two counts of driving without insurance.

He is also charged with making off without payment and two further counts of interferin­g with a vehicle. The offences are alleged to have taken place in Hinckley and Nuneaton in October and November, according to police.

A force spokesman said: “A Nuneaton man has been charged with vehicle offences in connection with a series of incidents in Nuneaton and Hinckley.

“This includes the alleged theft of a car from Roston Drive,

Hinckley, and alleged interferen­ce with motor vehicles in Ivanhoe Avenue and Aberdeen Road, Nuneaton.”

They added: “Ricky Aucott has been charged with aggravated vehicle taking, two counts of driving without insurance, making off without payment and two counts of vehicle interferen­ce.

He is due to appear at Coventry Magistrate­s’ Court this week.
