Parked cars force bus route to change

-

THE route of a town bus service has had to been changed because more people are parking their cars outside their homes during lockdown.

The Centrebus service 33 in Market Harborough will no longer serve Northleigh Grove, Logan Street, Highcross Street and will not call at the stop in Wartnaby Street, adjacent to Morley Street due to the number of cars lining the road.

A county council spokesman said: “Please be aware that the new route has been adopted with immediate effect.

“The route change is necessary as congestion, caused by an increase in parked cars, has meant some streets have become inaccessible to buses.”

The service, operated by the company on behalf of the county council, is also now travelling in the opposite direction in Coventry Road.

It will not stop outside St Joseph’s School.
