We’re riding a rollercoaster!

THE Leicester City squad are priming themselves for the rollercoaster Premier League season to continue.

With the midway point of the campaign just two fixtures away, City are third, one point off top spot but only six points ahead of 10th.

Teams have been rising and falling with alarming speed as a couple of good or bad results have a significant impact on the table.

Winger Marc Albrighton does not expect that trend to change, and says it’s part of the task at City not to get too wrapped up in the standings.

“We’ve looked at it and it’s going to keep changing and changing,” the 31-year-old told LCFC TV.

“From first down to sixth, seventh, eighth, it’s going to keep fluctuating, teams are going to move up and down, and we’ve just got to focus on us and we’ll see where we come out at the end.”

For Albrighton himself, there is also a focus on keeping himself in the team.

After being left out of the starting line-up for all of City’s first six Premier League games, he has now started five of the last seven.

He also has the best win ratio in the squad, with City victorious in nine of the 11 league games he has featured.

And after registering his first assist of the Premier League campaign at Newcastle on Sunday, playing the ball perfectly into the path of Youri Tielemans, it’s safe to say the titlewinner is very happy at the club.

“I’m really enjoying my time at the minute,” he said. “The group we have here is fantastic.

“The facilities now are second to none. It’s got everything in place to move forward and we are moving forward every season. We’re making strides.

“I’m enjoying every minute of it so long may it continue.”

That’s not to say he is totally satisfied.

City have already lost four home games this season, the same number as last season, and that’s something Albrighton and his teammates will look to correct in the

second half of the campaign. “We want to work on the games against the teams that we feel we should be beating,” he added.

“We need to do more to get the results against them, because on the road we’re getting some great results.”
