Allegation of theft from a Waitrose

A WOMAN has been charged with stealing items worth about £600 from a Waitrose store.

The 49-year-old was arrested after police were called to the store in Springfield Street, Market Harborough, just before 2.30pm on Saturday, when security staff detained a person outside.

The woman, from Walsall, is accused of theft and will appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court next month.

A Waitrose spokesman said “We are supporting the police with their investigation.”
