Murder accused in court

A 36-YEAR-OLD man accused of murdering Smita Mistry has appeared at the city’s crown court.

Frank Alex Farrell attended the hearing via a video link from custody. He did not enter a plea.

Farrell is charged with the murder of 32-year-old Ms Mistry following the discovery of her body at a property in Gedge Way, Saffron Lane, Leicester, on March 23.

There was no application for bail during the 14-minute hearing.

Farrell, of St Peter’s Road, Highfields, Leicester, was told he was being remanded back into custody.

He is due to reappear at Leicester Crown Court, for a plea and trial management hearing, this month.
