Insults hurled at policeman doing his job

-

A POLICE officer was shouted and sworn at as he dealt with residents’ complaints about badly-parked cars outside a sports club.

Pcso Calum Loades was speaking to people outside the sports club in Kirby Muxloe following a number of reports from residents about parking issues.

But while he spoke to residents, verbal abuse was hurled at him by some of the people in the club.

In tweets shared by Blaby police, Pcso Loades said: “It’s great to see local sport up and running again, something we all need. However, tonight I received numerous reports from residents of parking issues in Kirby Muxloe.

“While the majority of sports club users accepted the advice and apologised, sadly the minority feel it is acceptable to shout and swear at me while talking to residents.”

The incident comes after concerns were raised by the police about the number of assaults on officers. There have been more than 100 attacks on officers this year, the Police Federation said.
