-

LEICESTER City spent just over £12.5 million on player agent fees in the past year, new figures have revealed.

The FA has published a list of all payments and transactions involving registered intermediaries made across the Premier League, EFL and National League between Ferbuary 1, 2020, and February 1, 2021.

Leicester are ninth in the table when it comes to the most paid out, with a total of £12,518,018.

Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Everton and Wolves all paid more.

Chelsea, who signed Ben Chilwell from Leicester during the last summer transfer window, topped the list with £35,247,822.

West Brom spent the least on agent fees of any Premier League club – £4,222,059 – which was less than Championship duo Norwich City and Bournemouth, who were both relegated from the top flight last season.

During the period covered, Leicester completed the signings of Timothy Castagne from Atalanta and Wesley Fofana from Saint-Etienne on permanent transfers, while also bringing in Cengiz Under on loan from Roma.

Other transactions included new contracts for existing City players, including James Maddison and Jamie Vardy.
