A MAN was taken to hospital after he was stabbed in a city street.

The man was found injured in Egginton Street, Spinney Hills, on Wednesday night, police confirmed yesterday.

A small area of the street was cordoned off yesterday as police officers examined the scene.

Officers were seen searching a drain in Park Vale Road, near its junction with Egginton Street and next to Spinney Hill Park.

“The man was later discharged from hospital.

“No other injuries were reported. “A scene preservation is currently in place and inquires are ongoing.”

Police also appealed for anyone with information about the incident to call the non-emergency line, 101, or Crimestoppers, which is free and confidential, on 0800 555 111.
