BUSINESSES and charities can apply for grants to help with costs and loss of income during lockdown.

Leicester City Council is using the additional restrictions grant to support businesses and groups experiencing significant loss of income, along with ongoing premises and other non-payroll costs.

Those eligible to apply for discretionary grants include:

Dry cleaners and vehicle repairers; charity offices; places of public worship with defined community facilities; non-essential businesses which are legally required to close, located in business premises where they are not the direct ratepayer; approved driving instructors and city centre essential retailers.

Mayor Sir Peter Soulsby said: “The ongoing lockdown restrictions have affected businesses across the city, and these grants can provide muchneeded financial support.”
