Drugs and fuel found as car stopped

-

POLICE arrested two people on suspicion of a number of fuel thefts throughout the county after stopping a Jaguar car with three very large petrol containers inside.

Officers pulled the black car over on Wednesday and detained the suspect pair.

The couple were also arrested on suspicion of going equipped to steal and possession of drugs.

It was also discovered that the driver was disqualified from the road.

The car was stopped by officers from Roads Policing Unit (RPU).

A member of the team tweeted a photograph of the suspect vehicle and a haul of three large plastic petrol containers, one smaller container and what appear to be drugs.

The police added: “We arrested two from this vehicle for numerous fuel thefts in Leicestershire, for going equipped to steal, for possession of drugs and also found the driver was disqualified. Vehicle recovered.”
