£26k boost for print workshop

-

LEICESTER Print Workshop has received a grant of £25,945 from the government’s £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund.

More than £300 million has been awarded to thousands of organisations across the country.

This funding will be used to help Leicester Print Workshop, in the city’s Cultural Quarter, increase access to its fully equipped printmaking studio. In particular, the grant will be used to reassess how people from all walks of life can engage more fully and more regularly with the workshop and the printmaking courses, events, exhibitions, and activities on offer.

It will also support the development of the workshop’s new digital course programme, which will see world-renowned artists teach a range of printmaking techniques and specialities to people across the globe.

Samuel Javid, chairman of Leicester Print Workshop, said: “We’re delighted to receive this support. Leicester Print Workshop is full of creative talent, ambition, and printmaking passion, and now we will be able to invite more people to join our community.”
