First stores at developmen­t open

THE first two stores have opened at the new Fosse Park West and Food Central developmen­t.

Next and Costa Coffee welcomed their first customers on Thursday.

Next, in Fosse Park West, is open for click and collect only, and Costa Coffee, in Food Central, is open for takeaway only.

The £168 million Fosse Park West extension has been built on the site that formerly housed Everards brewery - which has relocated to Everards Meadows, over the road.

As part of the work, the shopping park’s food court has also undergone a huge revamp, and is now called Food Central.

The former Next store at Fosse Park North and the Next Home store at Fosse Park South are now permanentl­y closed, with all click and collect orders now being processed through the new store at

Fosse Park West. According to Fosse Park, Greggs will open its new Food Central store on Friday, April 9, and from April 12, Clarks and H&M in Fosse Park West, as well as The Perfume Shop and EE in Food Central will also be open.

The launch dates of Flannels, TK Maxx, Nando’s and Soho Coffee have yet to be announced. Fosse Par says “many new and exciting brands” will be joining the line-up.
