Pubs miss big Easter boost
Pubs being shut over Easter will cost the industry £325 million in lost trade for the second year, it is estimated.
Landlords are missing out on pulling 85 million pints over one of the busiest times of the year, the British Beer and Pub Association claims.
Beer gardens are due to reopen on April 12 in England and April 26 in Wales. Indoor service under the rule of six is due to resume from May 17 and restrictions end from June 21 in England.
Emma McClarkin, of the BBPA, urged the Government to stick to its roadmap out of lockdown.
She said: “For the second year in a row pubs remain forced shut at Easter. It’s a major disappointment for pubs and publicans too.”
