GenerOus Jimmy Brown is the football fan who puts the heart into Heart of midlothian.

for almost 20 years, whether Hearts are at home or away, Jimmy has driven around 200 miles each week to collect his nephew alan, who has cerebral palsy, and take him to matches.

now Jimmy has been crowned the latest monthly winner in Coral’s football fan of the Year competition for his selfless dedication to alan’s happiness and love of the game.

alan, 32, was born with his condition, which affects his ability to walk, and uses a wheelchair to get about. so Jimmy is always pleased to make sure he gets to see their favourite team play at Hearts’ tynecastle Park stadium in edinburgh or at an away venue. the 49-year-old drives from his home in Whitburn, West Lothian, to alan’s in Kilbarchan, renfrewshire.

then off the pair go to a scottish Championship fixture or a match in the scottish Cup (which Hearts have just exited), and Jimmy returns alan home afterwards.

Jimmy, who was nominated by best mate and fellow Hearts season ticket holder stuart easson, wins £1,000 in football-related prizes. He also has

a chance to become Coral’s football fan of the Year and receive a £10,000 jackpot at the end of the season.

He was picked for the prize by former england centre-forward and Coral ambassador alan shearer. Jimmy said: “i don’t

see what i do as anything out of the ordinary, but i feel humbled to receive this recognition on behalf of all those dedicated fans who simply love going to watch football.”

if you know a fan as inspiring as Jimmy, then Coral wants to hear about them. it’s time to celebrate the unsung heroes who help make football the greatest game on earth.
