Driver’s car seized on fast food run

-

A DRIVER who was “desperate” for a fast food fix has had a costly trip after their vehicle was seized.

Leicestershire’s Roads Policing Unit (RPU) were doing their regular rounds early on Sunday when they pulled the car over for a check.

It was discovered that in a bid to get to the fast food joint the driver had used their partner’s car to go out and get the McDonald’s breakfast.

Officers found that the person driving the vehicle had no insurance.

It turned out they had no licence either.

A post on the RPU Twitter account read: “When you’re that desperate for a McDonald’s breakfast and you use your partner’s car... with no insurance and no licence.

“Expensive trip out; driver reported and vehicle seized.”

They added: “He wasn’t lovin’ it.”

Comments on the social media post made light of the situation, with one saying: “Obviously not a happy meal.”
