MALUS FLORIBUNDA JAPANESE CRAB APPLE TREE

-

We are spoilt for blossoms in April and May with so many shrubs and bushes in full flower.

Crab apples are prolific bloomers and a great choice for the smaller plot.

Unlike cherries, they aren’t shallow rooting so are a better choice for the lawn or near paths. This one is also known as the showy crab apple due, no doubt, to the clouds of pink blossom at this time of year.

These pale pink flowers emerge from beautiful deep pink buds.

They will be followed by lots of yellow golden fruit in the autumn which persist well into winter providing a feast for the birds.
