Big response to innovative tournament

THE initial announcement of an innovative singles Stableford golf tournament to be contested next month at Kibworth GC has had an instant impact.

The golf day, being organised by Leicestershire-based golf and travel specialist company Golfing Days in response to a request from a new business in the village – Joseph Davies Barbering – will also help to boost mental health charities.

PGA professional Olly Booth, of Golfing Days, said: “We were delighted to take on the organisation of this golf day and are delighted by the early response.

“In addition to the singles Stableford tournament on June 21, there will be other fund-raising events during the day to help such a good cause, one that has become increasingly important during the recent difficult lockdowns and affects so many people of all ages.

“It is open to all golfers and we are very pleased to be able to hold this competition on the firm’s home village golf course.
