‘It won’t be like lifting a trophy’
LEICESTER City are four points away from a “monumental achievement” but Brendan Rodgers does not consider a top four finish as the equivalent of a trophy.
Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger once famously said “the first trophy is to finish in the top four” amid the Gunners’ nine-year silverware drought from 2005 to 2014.
Asked if Champions League qualification would be like winning a trophy, Rodgers said: “Not really. But it’s a huge achievement if you look at the other teams who are in there or who are predicted to be in there.
“For us to be up there disrupting that is a huge testament to the players.
“If we do get to the end of the season and finish in the top four it would be a monumental achievement by the players.”
