‘We want customers to feel safe again’

This Scottish business has striven to make its stores a safe place to shop

-

During lockdown, online sales of The Highland Soap Company’s bath and skincare products boomed. Now it has just opened its seventh retail store in Aviemore and has made every effort to make its outlets Covid safe.

“We offer our own sanitiser at our doors,” says director Archie MacDonald. “We also ask people to carry out track and trace using the app or supply their details.”

There’s also reduced capacity in its stores and the visitor centre cafe.

“This means customers can keep their distance from one another,” says Archie. “We have strict health and safety policies in place, and all staff have completed Covid training. Masks are worn at all times, and we’re trying to keep many transactions contactless.

“There are some really high quality independent retailers in all our locations. We really believe in the high street, and want people to feel safe coming out and shopping again.”
