FIVE years on from stunning the football world by winning the Premier League title, City now have the chance of more silverware as they take on Chelsea at Wembley.

It will be the fifth time City have appeared in the sporting showpiece and they are attempting to win the trophy for the first time.

They came up short on the previous four occasions – in 1949, 1961, 1963, 1969 against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Manchester City.

Fans will be keeping their fingers crossed that things are different for Brendan Rodgers’ side in 2021.

The final will be played in front of a crowd of 21,000, with 6,250 of them Leicester fans. Many, many more will be cheering on from home as they hope to see history unfold.

During the build-up to the game, fans have been sending their message to the City players on Mercury website LeicestershireLive’s Facebook and Twitter page.

Here are some of the things they have had to say:

Dean: “We can forgive mistakes. We can forgive a drop-off in form. We cannot and will not forgive anything less than 100 per cent effort.

“Leave nothing on that pitch. Give it your all. It might be the one and only chance you, and a great number of City fans, see you perform in the FA Cup final.”

VintageVardy: “Go out there and give it everything, boys, you are one step away from writing yourselves
