Police swoop on home over ‘online offences’
A MAN has been arrested after police descended on a Leicester cul-de-sac to raid a property.
Police arrived at the scene in Bromwich Close, Thorpe Astley, at about 7am yesterday, according to residents.
A 27-year-old male was arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into “offences committed online,” according to police.
Witnesses at the scene say they saw officers removing “computerrelated items” from a home in the quiet suburb.
A police spokesman said: “He remains in custody and inquiries are continuing.”
Alarmed neighbours reported seeing numerous police vehicles at the scene.
One, who did not wish to be identified, told the Mercury: “There are currently two tactical support vans, police dogs and two police detectives.
“It looks like a police raid. One man has been taken away and lots of things are being removed from the house by police.”
